Tarka Trail
The Tarka Trail is a 180-mile (290 km) circular cycling route in Devon, following the journey of Tarka the Otter through unspoiled countryside, estuaries, woodlands, and moorlands. The most popular section is a 31-mile (50 km) traffic-free stretch from Braunton to Meeth, running along a disused railway line with gentle gradients, making it perfect for cyclists of all levels. The route offers stunning views of the Taw and Torridge estuaries, historic railway bridges, and charming market towns like Barnstaple and Bideford.
