Escape to the New Forest for an unforgettable weekend of gravel riding and the chance to meet likeminded women.

Hosted by Debbie (duathlongirluk)
Cyclist & Mum
Join me for a women’s-only gravel cycling weekend designed for connection and adventure on the bike. We’ll explore the beautiful trails of the New Forest - a mix of forest tracks, open heathland, and quiet lanes, all with plenty of stops for coffee, cake, and chats. MTB and gravel rides welcome, the rides are relaxed and social, with no pressure to be fast, just supportive with plenty of laughter. When we’re not riding, there’s time to relax, chat and enjoy the weekend. Come on your own or with a friend - you’ll head home knowing more women who love the same things you do.

Arrive at the hotel at your own pace and settle in. We’re right in the heart of the New Forest, in a cycling-friendly spot chosen specifically for this group. Take the afternoon however you like. Get comfortable, have a quiet coffee, stretch the legs or chat with a few of the riders you’ll be cycling with. We’ll meet for a proper bike check so everything is set for the next day. At 6pm we come together for a relaxed welcome before heading to dinner as a group. It’s an easy way to get to know each other, run through a short overview of the rides and ask any questions. A light meal, good company and a gentle start to the weekend.

We start the day with breakfast at the hotel before rolling out at 10am for a relaxed 35 to 40 mile gravel ride through some of the New Forest’s most striking landscapes. Bolderwood’s forest roads take you under tall, quiet canopies, while Rhinefield and Blackwater Arboretum open into wide gravel stretches lined with giant redwoods. We pass through Burley for a cosy mid-ride coffee stop before completing the loop. With planned pauses along the way, the ride takes around four to five hours. The pace is steady, giving you time to enjoy the scenery rather than rush through it. We return to the hotel in the early afternoon. You can take the rest of the day as you like. Later, we come together for a mindset and confidence session, a short strength and fitness workshop and a couple of small surprises. Dinner brings everyone together to unwind and close out a great day.

We start at 9am for a relaxed 8-10 mile ride on quiet roads and smooth gravel from Lyndhurst into the calm woods around Emery Down. The easy route is suitable for all experience levels and offers a comfortable start to the day. Highlights include the Bolderwood Cycle Track with its tall trees, soft light, and peaceful loop, plus an optional stop at the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary platform, where you might spot fallow deer. You return to the hotel for checkout and say your goodbyes to the group. It’s time to wrap up the weekend, chat about the rides and head home with new memories, stories and friendships.

I once came out of transition at an international duathlon… with my helmet on backwards!
I’m Debbie, I didn’t start cycling until I was almost 40, but I quickly fell in love. I’m a former Duathlon World Champion who now enjoys embracing new challenges on the bike. My love of travel started in my 20s when I backpacked around the world, and now I get the best of both worlds by combining cycling with little escapes. I’m all for exploring new places on two wheels, then rewarding the effort with good food, laughs, and a cosy place to stay. I love meeting like-minded women who are all about adventure, challenges and connection. I’m super excited to ride with you this spring.
I didn’t grow up cycling and honestly never imagined it would become such a big part of my life. I picked it up just before turning 40 and something clicked straight away. It gave me freedom, confidence and a sense of adventure I didn’t realise I was missing. Very quickly it became more than just riding. It was the people, the shared challenges, the conversations, the feeling of doing something for yourself. Cycling opened a whole new world for me and I’ve never looked back.
I’ve arranged quite a few one-day women’s gravel rides, so hosting a full weekend felt like the natural next step. For me, the magic of cycling is the people you meet along the way. I’d love to bring more women together to experience that. The New Forest is one of my favourite places to ride, but I’ve only ever explored it on the road. I keep hearing how good the gravel is down there, and it feels like the perfect place for a relaxed women’s weekend - beautiful trails, easy-going terrain, with plenty of spots for coffee and cake.
